Pruvo privacy policy
Last updated
Pruvo stores your receipts and warranty records on your own devices. There is no Pruvo account and no Pruvo server, and the app does not send your data to the developer or to anyone else.
What Pruvo stores
The purchases you add: names, stores, brands, model and serial numbers, prices, dates, warranty and return periods, support cases, and the receipts and invoices you attach. When you scan or import a receipt, the text read from it is stored with the document so you can search it.
All of this stays inside the app on your iPhone. The developer cannot see it.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, Pruvo syncs your records through your private iCloud database so they appear on your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account; the developer has no access to it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
If iCloud is off, your records stay on the device. Settings in Pruvo shows which of the two applies.
Camera, photos and files
The camera is used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Text recognition runs on the device; images are never uploaded.
Files you pick in Files, or share to Pruvo from Mail, Photos or Safari, are copied into the app. The share extension places them in a folder on your device that only Pruvo can read, and the app imports them the next time it opens.
Messages and links you share to Pruvo, or send to it with a Shortcuts automation you set up, are read on the device for the store, date and amount. iOS does not let Pruvo read your messages or email on its own; only what you share or route to it arrives.
If you choose a folder to watch, such as Downloads, Pruvo reads new PDFs in that folder each time it opens, on the device, to find invoices. It reads no other folders, and you can stop watching at any time in Settings.
Downloading invoices from links
When a shared message contains a link to an invoice, Pruvo shows the website it points to and downloads the PDF only if you tap to do so. The request goes directly to that website, which can see your IP address, as with any website you visit. Pruvo adds no account, identifier or personal information to the request and uses no cookies. This is the only time Pruvo connects to the internet itself, apart from iCloud sync.
Face ID and notifications
The optional app lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode through iOS. Pruvo only learns whether unlocking succeeded; it never receives biometric data.
Warranty and return reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.
What Pruvo does not do
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and no third-party SDKs. Pruvo does not collect device identifiers, location or contacts.
Sharing and export
A support pack or an archive export leaves the app only when you share it, and only to the destination you pick in the share sheet.
Deleting your data
Deleting a purchase removes it and its documents. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. To remove synced copies, open iOS Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Storage, and delete Pruvo's data.
